ASSOCIATIONS EDUCATORS – HOW TO PROMOTE INCLUSIVE SPORTS PROGRAMMES

The project aims to promote inclusive sports as a reference model for sports practice by individuals with Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities, strengthening networking, training, and awareness among involved stakeholders, and analyzing the impact that inclusive sports initiatives have on sports organizations and individuals with Down syndrome themselves.
The information gathered will be used for scientific studies to expand knowledge on the inclusion of individuals with intellectual disabilities in sports.

Unit 1: Context and evolution in sport for people with intellectual disabilities. Unit 2: The EU JOIN US Model of inclusive sport and its applications in disability associations. Unit 3: How to implement inclusive sport programs from associations. Unit 4: Facilitating factors and barriers of inclusive sports in the associative sector. How to work with people with Down syndrome and their families. Unit 5: Components of success and succesful cases: inclusive sport programs developed from the associative sector.
