The first meeting of EU Join Us, a European Union Project developed with reference to individuals with Down syndrome to create a model for inclusive sport in Europe, was hosted by Türkiye Down Syndrome Association.

Türkiye Down Syndrome Association, Associazione Italiana Persone Down, Universidad Pontificia Comillas, Capitolina Onlus, Federação Portuguesa de Hóquei, PAIS 21, Kırıkkale University attended the first meeting of the project led by DOWN Espana.

The aim of the project is to increase the inclusion of people with Down syndrome in sports activities and create an inclusive sports culture in Europe. The EU JOIN US project aims to create an inclusive sport culture.

The first meeting of the project was an important step where the participants shared their ideas and worked together on the project objectives. Stakeholders were informed about the project and shared their ideas on what can be done to increase the participation of people with Down syndrome in sports activities.

Other meetings of the EU Join Us project will be held in different European countries. The success of the project will enable individuals with Down syndrome to be more involved in sports activities and contribute to the spread of an inclusive sports culture.
